We are still having aftershocks from yesterdays earthquake. The main damage from this moderate earthquake was some spilled cooking oil near the epicenter, a little broken glass, power failure of a couple of hours near the epicenter, and a few bottles of spaghetti sauce and salsa falling from a shelf at Walmart..
I had to laugh and shake my head in disbelief when I read a news article about the "DISASTER" of the earthquake and all the inflammatory speculation that this earthquake was the lead-in to a cataclysmic Yellowstone "Supervolcano" event that would destroy the entire US. And you wonder why so many reporters get so little respect. Listen to the scientists, folks, not some excitable reporter looking for publicity and unwilling to do any research before writing a lot of frightening rubbish. Visit the USGS (US Geological Survey) web site and look at the list of all the earthquakes that happen every day all around the world. Look at what geologists say about the "Supervolcano" and think before you get into a panic like this poor reporter.
