Winter Woes

Yesterday, we had a nasty snowstorm.  Today, we are "digging out" as the saying goes.  My husband just came in with a tale of woe.

1.  He broke a shear pin on the snowblower hitting a submerged (and thus, invisible) chunk of wood from a fallen tree limb.  He had a spare, thank goodness.  But only one spare.

2.  When he tried to start the snowblower after fixing the shear pin, the starter rope broke.   Needs a new starter rope.

3.  Tried to start the truck.  Battery dead.  Dragged out the battery and charged it.

4.  Cleaning off the car, brushed snow from the front license plate and the plastic connector broke from the cold (it is below zero today).  Threw the license plate into the front seat of the car.  Needs a new connector, no, a bolt won't do, it needs the special connector.

5.  Did a lot of grumbling. He used to like snow, but he is getting as bad as I am nowadays.  Some of the muttering and grumbling was about hating snow.

Of course, the day is not done.  There is still 300 feet of driveway covered with 8 - 10 inches of snow to remove.  He got the truck started and powered through the snow to go shopping for a rope, a connector, more spare shear pins, and probably a few other things.

I wonder what will be next?
